I can't find a clear answer on this problem. I have a 97 350 vortec and when I floor it I get high rpm but no acceleration at all. But the real bugger is that it is intermittent. Sometimes I have a strong start and it seems all good. But other times it just is totally gutless can someone please help me.

Doubt that is it. Have had it all checked over on the trany it's something engine or fuel

 

why doubt? Seems pretty likely for a 26yo vehicle.
If the engine is going really fast but your truck isn't going anywhere, then it's your transmission.
