Default 98 2500 low fuel pressure

New to this site
I have a 98 2500 5.7 vortec. It just stopped running, won't start. I replaced fuel pump, relay, and filter. Still won't start, tested fuel pressure and got 38 psi while cranking, and 42 at rest. Any guesseson why the pressure is so low? Thank you

Should be 50 PSI or higher, particularity with a new fuel pump, relay and filter. Might have been sold a defective fuel pump, but very unlikely.

More then likely you have a bad MAP sensor, which if correct, is easier then installing another fuel pump.
