Hey im trying to get some upgradeable power and so far all im thinking of is a 350 swap. From what I understand if I were to get a second truck with a 5.7 in it i could just essentially take the PCM, wiring harness, radiator, engine, etc. out of the V8 truck and replace it with all of the parts in the 4.3 truck and just bolt up my 5-Speed NV3500 to the back of the 350, slide the current motor mounts forward and voila it should work. However I need to know if I get a truck with an automatic 350 and put a manual trans on the PCM will i need to re flash it or if it just will be plug and play, and if I need to get a truck from the same year because my current 4.3 is a vortec and from what i hear a non vortec will not work so easy. I will be doing the swap indefinitely and posting many pictures and working along side my buddy who is more experienced working on cars however i just want to know what are the common problems people or that I might face.
