Default Blower Motor Quit

My pickup is a basic 1998 with the standard two-dial heater and A/C controls (not climate control). Recently, the blower would stop turning occasionally, but would start back up if I turned the dial off and on again.

I ordered a new blower and installed it, but the new blower doesn't turn at all. I checked the #12 heat/AC fuse and it is intact. I reinstalled the old blower and it doesn't turn at all now either, so I put the new unit back in. Any ideas? Do I need to replace the resistor also?

I have checked the terminals several times and ensured that they both are connected.

Maybe time for a new switch; put 12 v to the old motor and see if it runs to test. Could try spraying the switch innerds with Deoxit

Check to see if voltage gets to the resistor with the switch on high. If it does, I would replace the resistor. You should probably replace it anyway.
