Default Brake Switch wiring...

Can anyone tell me which wires go to where from the brake light switch?
1996 Chevy c1500 4.3
I cannot get the brake relay to energize.

Your brake light wire runs through your turn signal switch.
Does the third brake light work?
Yes, suspect a turn signal switch if your bed mounted lights aren't working.
No, suspect a bad or maladjusted switch.

If you have cruise control you'll have more wires under there and possibly another switch.

If my memory is any good
check the white wire going into the steering column for a brake light signal

i don't have a wiring diagram here in front of me, sorry
and if i misunderstood your question, i'll go find my rock...

not sure about something that new (compared to the 73-91) but those older ones have a NC and NO (normally closed and normally open) one side will go to the brake lights the other side will do the the CC/ecm and i think the trans lockup

this is more of a "correct me if im wrong post" i do like to be told if im incorrect, so i have good information
