Default A/c evaporator removal

Has anyone replace their evaporator in their 98 Silverado C2500 ext cab? mine is leaking, I recharged my system this weekend even with the compress engaged, and after I started adding the second can, the cab filled up with R134 vapors coming out the vents. I could see a mist coming from the Dryer, but did not think dryer would put the vapors inside the cab. If I have to remove the dash to replaced, any tips?

Thanks
Darryl

if it's anything like my 91 K1500, you'll have to remove the entire dash to get the evaporator out. Not an easy job. I was lucky, I replaced all the other parts of my AC system first and that fixed my prob. Sorry to be the barrier of bad news.
