Hey guys,
not sure if anyone has had a similar problem.
I just bought a 1996 K1500. The check engine light came on, so went to go get it. checked it out but they said it wasn't on anymore. So it came back on today.

Both times it came on was driving up the same hill. Then when I put it in park, it had a rough idle. Going up the hill, I couldn't go past 40-45mph not sure if that matters.

Im going back to the shop on thursday but just wondering what it could be.

A 1996 will have an OBD II system. Can you check your Chevy for any codes?

 

I dont have a scanner anymore. So guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to see what they say lol

 

Ended up being a misfire. So had a tune up done. Plugs were crappy, along with the distributer cap.
