Crate Engine Suggestions
Hi all, I'm brand new to the forum and need some guidance. My truck, a 1998 C1500 with the Vortec 5.7 just crapped out on me. Still runs, but sounds like I threw a rod. I'm looking for suggestions on where to pick up a new crate motor. Jegs and Summit both sell them for approx $1900, the local Chevrolet dealers are all asking $2800+, and with so many places to choose from, I was wondering if anyone here had any experience or suggestions as to where I might go to order a new crate motor. I'd appreciate any info y'all could provide.
