Default Disconnecting ABS on 1995 Silverado?

I am getting an intermittent "growling" noise coming from my ABS unit area, when I apply brakes. I can feel difference in brakes too when I hear noise. I suspect ABS brain is becoming defective. I don't want to spend $500+ bucks on a 1995 truck. Can I disconnect ABS brain by disconnecting relay? I don't want codes or check engine lights coming on either. I never cared much for ABS, anyway. If there is a better way, I am all ears!

You can take out the ABS fuse. it will disable the ABS but the ABS light in the dash will come on. Anything you do to it will cause the light to come on.

Thanks, I suspected that but as long as I have good brakes, I will be pleased. I didn't want to adversely affect braking power. Now, maybe I can figure out a way to disconnect ABS dash light! THX again!
