Default Front Parking Lamps

I have been a member here for a few years but do not post very often. But I have a question. It is my understanding that certain base model trucks did not have front parking lights, only turn signals. Is there a way to determine if my truck came equipped with parking lights? The pigtails and bulbs are there but??? It's a 96 extended cab 2 wd.

Regards,
Junk

Check the light bulb sockets. If they have 2 contacts for double filament bulbs then they had parking lights. Possibly the wrong bulbs were installed at one time.

The front sockets have 2 contacts and I've replaced all the bulbs. Fuses are good??? No loose or broken wires. No loose or missing wires in the fuse block that I can determine.

Did you put in double filament bulbs like a 3157? Just to be sure check with a meter to be sure there is no voltage going to the contacts to the sockets. If not, trace the wire back to the switch. The switch could be the problem.
