Default Hard Choices

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and in the market for a silverado. I am currently looking at a 1997 z71: http://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/5346700561.html
and a 2003 k1500: http://omaha.craigslist.org/ctd/5361519705.html
I was just wondering what the better year is for long term electrical and mechanical reliability and which truck I would be happier with in terms of engine potential and overall quality.

They both look like good trucks and both years are reliable. One is an extended cab. Do you really need the extended cab? Do a car fax and make your decision from that report.
