Default Knock Sensor Code Reset - 98 Chevy, K-1500, P/U, 5.7

I was told by an emissions tech to replace my knock sensor (Bay 1) and drive 12-14 miles at 45mph and 12-14 miles at 60mph to reset the computer. I assume this is the sensor listening to the detonations and recalibrating.
Question - How sensitive are these driving parameters? Can I travel over 60mph before going 12 miles or do I have to stay at or below that speed to remove the code?
Same question for traveling at 60mph?

Knock sensor resides on the ecm. I don't know why you where told it needed replaced, but, whatever. It shouldn't matter the speed ect. as if it is new it will learn what it has.

You sure this isn't an O2 sensor?
