Smile Looking to gain HP in my 94 k1500

I've got a 1994 extended cab K1500 with a 5.7 in it. The truck is completely stock other than some Headman longtube headers, no cats, and Magnaflow mufflers. I'm looking to get around 300hp out of it. What would y'all suggest? Looking to spend $1,500 or less. Thank you in advance.

High-Performance camshaft would be one way to achieve 300 HP. I'd also put a Cloyes timing chain on it. Their reputation is beyond the best in the world. A better set of heads/valves would also help as well.

I’ve also heard good things about those timing chains. I looked at some Edelbrock heads and cams that look promising. Would you recommend them?
