Need help with duel exhaust.
Hello my name is Graham,
I drive a 1997 2500 shortbox with a 7.4 and a 5spd. It just sounds lame and want it to sound more like a big block. I was just wondering what kind of systems you are running and why do you like it. I am on the edge going with a magnaflow 14 inch duel in and duel out with 2 3/4 piping.

Well its kinda personal what you like. Few weeks ago I changed my exhaust because it was to loud. It had some old magnaflow system under it which ended a few inches behind the cabin. This made the sound resonate in the cabin and at certain speeds it was super annoying. So I started looking online for some videos of exhaust sounds but hearing the sound from a truck trough a computer/tablet/phone is not really saying all that much.
Because I didn’t wanted to install the system myself I went to a specialist shop who can make test setups in their shop so you can hear the sound before fixing and welding it all together. The better specialist shops can do this for you.
If if you want to install and weld it yourself then it’s a lot harder to know for sure if what you buy is the right thing. If you live in the USA the pay attention when driving around and just ask people what they got.
Also a thing to keep in mind is local rules about exhaust loudness, emissions tests catalyst rules etc Where I live there are no catalysts required for pre 93 models so it made the setup cheaper.
