Default New Brake Light Switch Adjustment

Chased so many leads to try to make the cruise control work. Finally nailed it with the new brake light switch. Cruise works now. Brake lights do not work. I can adjust the sensor on the brake pedal to make the lights come on but stay on, but can not make it to where the brake lights illuminate with just a pedal push. I’m so lost. Can’t find a legit topic on adjusting the new switch. I found one that said depress the pedal a little bit and pull the lever if the switch toward the driver seat. I did that. It made the cruise work, but I made the brake lights NOT work. If I shift the switch forward the brake lights will illuminate and then stay on. I have no idea what the darn thing wants!!!!

Those switches are usually not that difficult to adjust.
From what you describe, wonder if you received a quality switch.

Thanks for the replies fellas. After reading some comments on an install video on YouTube, there is a small square block on the left side of the switch that has to align with and insert into a sleeve bracket on the truck. While also aligning and making the open loop end pop on to the bar at the very top. Little tricky to align both and have to push very hard but it will snap in eventually. Then the small lever hanging out of the bottom of the switch needs to be pushed all the way back towards the drivers seat and it allegedly auto adjusts itself the first time you apply the brakes. All works fine now!
