No Spark 90 full size
Hi everyone.
90 Chevy 350 Sport. Not getting spark, getting fuel at the injector. Coil checks good. This has been an intermittent problem that finally has failed. For weeks it would die at random times, either in traffic, idling, wherever, and start back up. Once in a while it would take a few minutes to start. Now it's finally dead. I thought that since it had no fire it would have no fuel, everything being hooked together for safety. That isn't the case. Any ideas?

I'm here for the party
well could be a couple things fist is the rotor button and cap. once heated up from arching they can bend too far away and the spark wont jump the gap. the other issues are the icm or the pick-up coil. since its not working at all not this will help you test the icm as sometimes they only fail when warm. but you have to take the icm out (under the rotor) and take it to a parts store for them to test. if it test good then your problem prob is the pick-up coil, but you have to take the distributor apart (remove the distributor from engine, pull out the gear pin at the bast of the distributor remove the gear slide the shaft out and remove the pick-up coil.)

Thanks Irish. Cap and rotor are new. ICM checks good. That leaves the pick up coil. The distributor is a cheep Auto Zone piece, hard telling what's in there.
