I have a 1998 Chevrolet silverado extended cab k1500 with a 5.7 vortec and I'm looking into getting new seats entirely. So my question is could seats from a newer model chevy or any vehicle for that matter fit in mine? could i take their seats out and bolt right into mine or is it specific for each truck and or would i have to modify anything?

 

Not sure if this helps but I converted my 95 from having bucket seats and center console to the split bench I got from a 98. I had to swap out the seat rails from my original seat to make the passenger side work, but the driver/split bench bolted right up. Technically you could probably use any seat if you reuse the rails and are willing to get creative and drill some holes.
