Default suspension problems 1994 c2500

Hello all,
1994 c2500
rwd
7.2 L

add-a-leaf in rear ~2” lift
front coil spacer providing 3” of front lift.
Stock length struts in front and rear.

When I roll over a tall speedbump with my front tires, rather than compressing the front struts, the whole front of the truck “jumps” up and I can hear the upper control arms dropping and smacking the shock tower at “full travel”. I.e. if i raised the front of the truck with a jack, at my “longest travel” point is where the uca is contacting the shock tower. The guy who had the truck last put the 1.5 in coil spacer in (for 3in lift) and said he never got longer struts. but i fail to see how longer struts would prevent this from occurring. there is also very limited after market support for these specific trucks being rwd. my ultimate goal is fabbing some sort of long travel myself but am at no level to do that right now. any help to stop this/ get some more front travel would be great. Im going to start with longer struts in the front- Bilstein 5100 24-186940.

thank you.

in the photo the shiny knick on the outside of the tower is where the uca contacts when the front tires are in the air.
