Hi so I’m having issues with my trans I think. While driving (gear in drive) seems as tho all gears just disappeared it acted as tho I was in neutral. When I stopped I tried to put in low gear , 2nd even reverse and it doesn’t even acted like it is trying to go into gear on any of ‘em. I put my OBD11 reader on it. (My check engine light doesn’t work at all) and I get code p0300 (random misfire) and code p0578 (solenoid in tranny). But I have had trans go out in other vehicles and it seems like there was at least reverse that would catch in gear. This acts as tho my linkage has popped off, which isn’t the case. A week prior my linkage did pop off but I popped back on and all was well. Mind you I had a guy look for a leak I had under the truck and he told me the oil filter was leaking and he put another on, but I know it wasn’t filter. I put a new one on and changed oil about a month ago myself. I still have leak and my trans fluid is real watery and was full to top of dipstick. I know I’m a girl but daddy didn’t raise an idiot and I checked all my fluids the morning of the day this happened. They were right where they should be. When my linkage had slippednfg a week prior I was leaving this dudes house when that happened and when this current issue happened I had just left the same house and got about a mile down the road. I have a sneaky Suspicion something more is off Than just mechanical problems but I don’t know so here I am any ideas or maybe someone had similar problems? The codes have been on my truck for few months by the way they aren’t new. I bought the truck from the original owner 7 months ago. Mileage says478,752 but that hasn’t moved since I bought the truck. No issues when I bought it. Thanks

 

with half a million miles, the transmission is more than likely toast.
