Default What is this part?

Hi,
I have a 1998 K1500 4WD 5.0L V8 5 spd. manual transmission and the parts in the picture fell onto my foot from under the dash while I was driving. Does anyone know what these parts are?

Thanks!

They look like a guide/pivot and return spring. One of the pedals (gas, brake, clutch, parking brake) or one of the release levers (hood, parking brake) are the only things that come to mind. Use a good flashlight to examine the area around the column. It will help to remove the knee bolster.

Looks like it's an HVAC blend door linkage. Someone posted a picture in page two of the thread in the link below.

Thanks for the help. I used a flashlight under the dash this afternoon but didn't see anything that looked like the right spot. I was thrown off a bit by the fact that I also seem to have lost function on the brake lights and thought it may be part of that system. The HVAC tip is a good one because I noticed this evening that I am not able to get the HVAC to blow from the dash vents. It will go floor and defrost but nothing on the dash. Now I have an idea of where to start narrowing this down. Appreciate the help!

What's the lost function issue with the brake lights? If they won't turn off there is probably a little plastic pad/cushion/stop on the brake pedal that broke apart.

The brake lights don't go on when the pedal is depressed. I'm going to check my fuses first and see if that is the problem. After that I suppose I will need to check the brake switch on the pedal.
