Default Where is the TCCM in a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.7 4x4

Start this out by saying I am no mechanic. But I can find my way around most of the time. I have a 1997 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.7 4x4 and the 4x4 is out. Took it to a local place who checked everything out and said it was the transfer case control module. A $410.87 repair if they do it. Done some research and it shows that this is way under the dash which looks like where they went to test when they had it.
My question is, is this in fact where it is. Found youtube videos showing it in easier to get to locations so I want to be sure. If I am correct and it is under the dash then almost the whole dash has to come out as well as components under the dash.
Not a job I want to get into and find I am in the wrong location. I don't have a book showing this so relying on the internet for this one. Thanks!
