Default Wireing help

Hey guys realy needing some help trying to install a radio the right way (person that had the 93 ext cap 1500 didn't know how I guess) so here's my problem I hook up my red wire and my yellow wire and turn the key nothing happens so I touch the two together and the radio comes on but so do the cab lights and glovebox light why is this

The red wire is 12 volts all the time and the yellow is 12 volts only when the key is on. Do you have the black wire connected to a good ground?

12volt.com will have a wiring pinout for your truck

Yea I've got the wires hooked up right and I found a couple of wires that have been spliced together but I don't wanna juts take them apart because it had a security system in it once before and I dont know where any of it is leading to
