Default Won't pass 35mph high rpm

Hey. Got a problem. 98 c3500 will not go passed 35mph and the reverse barely moves. When trying to drive, vehicle will have high rmp but no giddy up. Any help?

Check the transmission fluid as a start. I read your subject as high rpm, but won't go past 35 mph.

Hey, Bud. Thanks for the reply. I checked my transmission fluid. It is rather blackish with a slight hint of red tint, but it is full or at least showing full. The vehicle does drive but will not go pass 35mph. Also the reverse is not working. Got any ideas?

I'm going through the same problem now. I pulled the trans out of my truck and from what it sounds like, you have the same problem as me. When I pulled it apart the clutches for 3rd and 4th were way burnt up. I also have to get a new torque converter as well. My bet would be that if you were to pull the trans apart you'd have to replace the same stuff plus your reverse.
