Default 02 Silverado 1500 4WD issues

Ok I have a 2002 Silverado 1500 LS 4WD. It has the push button selector on the dash for the 4WD. I have lost power to the front wheels. I have had the truck off the ground on jack stands twice. The first time the front wheels did not turn. Second time in the same day the front wheels turned in 4 HI and 4 LO. I have had the actuator out of the front differential and it actuates when swithed into 4 HI and 4 LO. I have read many posts about 4WD drive issues. Some say its the actuator and others say that its the switch. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the wiring to the switch?

I took my switch apart and soldered the wires again. It is common for the solder to loosen up on these switches. Fixed my problem.

Default 4x4 troubles

Had the transmission rebuilt at 90000 miles on my 04 silver 4x4. Now at 130000 miles the service 4 wheel drive light has come on. Pulled the tccm fuse, no luck. Disconnected the batt, no luck but the warning light went away. Still no lights on the push button controls for the 4x4. Replaced the buttons, still no luck... Other suggestions ? Just want to get it fixed, so I can sell it. Thanks.

check or mice damaged under the fuse box located in engine compartment, mice ate all the wires leaving me with only second gear, they had to repair all wires and they put drier sheets under the fuse box. Hope this help.

Thanks for the response, but found the problem to be the tccm. $750.00 later , on the road and sold. After around 3400.00 in repairs in the last 3 years, have had enough.
Thanks again,
Bob J
