By addressing whatever problem it is trying to notify you about lol
A cheap scanner will easily tell you what the issue is, at least at a high level. From there, you can google what tend to be common fixes for your vehicle for said trouble code. That's going to be the easiest place to start. But be sure to not neglect checking the simplest things first: ensure all fuses, especially ones related to the circuit(s) related to your trouble codes, are good. Second, it's never a bad idea to go through every single ground you can find, unbolt it, wire wheel it clean and rebolt. It's remarkable how many problems stem from bad grounds, which easily go bad from corrosion, dirt and/or rust.

If you don't have the tools to do it yourself, I would go to a parts store such as Autozone, Advanced Auto, etc, and have them read the codes that are causing the check engine light. They can also clear it, but it won't stay off until the underlying conditions are fixed.
