Somebody please tell me why the acceleration on the 99 GMC is more responsive than the 04 Silverado 2 WD. the 99 was so responsive, I could break the tires loose. The 04 feels like I have to push the accelerator farther just to get it moving. Runs fine, just not as responsive. Both have 5.3 .... the 99 has 260k on the ODO. The 04 has has 150k

 

fuel pressure can cause this issue. but generally youll have a check engine light and will cause the engine to run lean. is your check engine light on?

 

No, no lights, it runs fine, just lazy acceleration
