I have a clinking noise coming from what I thought was the rear of the truck. The rear u-joint was replaced, the front one at the trans was not. (They should have done both) Anyway there is NO play at all in the rear drive shaft. However when I inspected the front 4x4 drive shaft I can turn it a tiny bit the u-joints look okay and move when I turn the shaft. So the entire assembly has a tiny bit of play. My Questions is, Is this normal for this front shaft to turn a little? And if not what would be bad allowing it to move. U-joints seem to be fine??? - Still trying to locate the noise coming from the rear of the truck as well. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
