Default 2001 2500 HD Crankshaft sensor relearn ?

Check engine light was flashing at freeway speeds after reading several posts I replaced the crankshaft sensor light went away and have had no issues. The truck set for about a week, started it yesterday and sounded like it was running on 6 cylinders, (6.0 litre) ran the code and the dreaded P0300 came up. On some of the posts on here people were talking about having to go to a dealer to have the crankshaft sensor relearn done.
My question, can someone explain the procedure and why? also do I need to have this done. One thing that was discovered is that the tensioner pulley for the A/C was locked up I removed the belt until the tensioner was ordred started the truck and has ran fine sense..... Please help.

sounds like you need to figure out where your misfire is, flashing light means you have a dead miss and if you can tell its not running right then its not just a relearn issue.

You just need a capable scanner to do the relearn but it won't learn or won't be accurate if the engine is running rough
