My 2001 Silverado has recently developed noticeable creeking noise on right turns. Bought the truck used in 2005 with approximately 60000 miles on it. It currently has approximately 178000 miles with the majority being highway mileage. It makes the noise after the steering wheel has been turned approximately 1/4 turn with the truck stopped and in park. I first noticed the noise about a week ago while making a sharp right turn at a street corner. I tried replicating it with a left turn but nothing noted. The noise seems more subdued at higher speeds as sharp right turns are typically not required at freeway speeds. As the noise is isolated to right turns is it possible it could involve steering gear.
