Default 2003 Silverado HD 6.0 Rusted Fuel lines/replacement

2003 silverado HD 6.0...rusted fuel lines...

I've seen several posts of people trying to be OEM/Certified GM mechanics...replacing chevys BS, SUB QUALITY (I'm restraining myself/language) lines.....
Similar to the brake lines that about got me killed at 30,000 miles, when THEY rusted THROUGH/failed.... WIDE SPREAD issue that SHOULD have also been recalled! (I replaced THEM w/ SS lines, BTW.)
What I'm getting at is, WHY don't people use the plastic line for the WHOLE route? Wrap them in some 'loom' if you think they'll fail again/get 'rubbed' through...
There's plastic line going into the tank...WHY NOT the rest of the way???

I'd be an IDIOT to put metal lines back in..(when they go right into a plastic line).. in the exact STUPID place the braindead engineers put them ORIGINALLY!
Come on!!!
I see people pulling the transmission...torsion bars....this is RIDICULOUS!!!
If you can't tell, I'm REALLY mad!
My BABIED/garaged truck, has only 60k on the clock...RARELY driven in the winter....and wasn't driven AT ALL for about 4 years...

I know...it's MY fault for NOT driving it enough.......whatever... :P

Who has re-run these lines completely in NON CORROSIVE plastic?
what route did you go?
I KNOW you're out there....PM me if you're scared of ridicule from the 'purists'... lol
How many feet did you need?
Reliable Couplers..
Good sources?

THIS is how I WILL rectify this additional BLATANT example of GM saving $5.00 per truck on crappy (edit) materials...
Your help would be appreciated...
I'll share MY fix if none of you, who have already DONE it, have the guts to...

Flame away, if you must....

Thanks,
Chris

plastic fuel lines are the fastest and cheapest replacement option. It will either require compression fittings made to join metal to plastic or plastic to plastic (dorman makes them search amazon or an auto store. If you have the special forming tool; you can press the plastic quick connect right into the newly run plastic line. zip tie everything securely and you're done. Only issue with plastic is you can't route tight angles or risk kinking the line. If you don't want to drop the tank; use the compression fittings.

If you got a 18 year old vehicle and live in the rust belt expect to replace steel brake and fuel lines. Just be glad they have switched to plastic tanks and sending units or you would be paying for those also.
All the new lines are plastic coated from factory to extend there life.
