Default 2004 Silverado Z71 - signal issue

PROBLEM: left signal works perfectly... right signal has the following troubles: works only part time, not every time I switch it on, sometimes have to turn on then off and back on for it to work, also when it is working if brake is applied the signal goes solid, in front, rear and mirror... I checked all fuses and what I think are the flashers(not sure on these), everything I checked seems to be fine... also when brake is applied without any signal on the right signal lights will light up... could this be the brake light switch? any help is much appreciated

I would check the sockets the bulb goes into for corrosion and looseness on both the front and rear. Also check the wires going to these sockets. I have seen similar problems caused by bad sockets.

problem solved: thru the research I did GM has had problems with GM part# 15764135, GM has replaced this with GM part#10833321 (turn signal/hazard flasher)... so I replaced this part and all signals and brakes lights work correctly... the flasher is located behind the fuse box at drivers end of dash, to access the flasher you must remove the panel below the steering wheel, not that hard... hope this info will help those who may find themselves with the same type problem
