2006 Silverado problems after speaker install
PROBLEMS:
-overhead lights staying on
- passenger and driver door locks and windows stopped working, including side mirror control.
I have searched the web for multiple days trying to figure out why all of these problems happened after installed my new speakers, I haven't found a single solution. i have taken the doors off of both sides to check the connections of both door lock modules and they all seem connected.
this morning i found other threads about other types of vehicle brands that have has simlar problesm and they all talk about nicking a screw into the wires, or resetting by unplugging the battery(which i did even though my car started it makes no sense to do it).
im just at a loss of what to do, i dont want to take it to a shop if i can do it myself thats why im reaching out for help
as per my overhead lights, i checked my side controls to see if i had the button pushed in and if my slider was all the way up, which it wasnt. my speakers work fine, but everything else has stop working.
I BEG ALL OF YOU AMAZING FOLK TO HELP ME FIX THIS PROBLEM.

you have obviously hooked it up wrong, might even damage something or cause a fire.
1) uninstall it in reverse procedure you installed it, as you found it
2) be more careful about hookup next time
I don't see how you could hook a speaker wrong. here's some wild guesses
a) you have to have correct Z impedence for your radio. you can't choose "just any speaker" unless it's an old horse of a radio which doesn't care and is in good condition.
b) ground contact counts. your speaker has a metal frame. insure it does or doesn't touch the metal frame of the door as it was designed: that i cannot tell you. whether to ground or to what.

I'd send you mine but the kids ripped the speaker cone by playing with the dials 10 yr ago.
I disabled my radio since an old radio can cause parasitic leak and drains the car battery and is hard on the alternator. (being stuck on the road is my idea of "no way").
I JUST USE MY IPHONE for music. I dont' bother with the car radio anymore.
