2003 Suburban 1500
I installed a gauge cluster out of a 2003' Escalade, and now the transmission is freaking out. Random downshifts, revving out on every gear (3000 RPM) and refusing 4th, almost like its stuck in tow haul.
Its also gaining some electrical issues, randomly locking and unlocking the doors, opening the throttle for no apparent reason, and drivers window freaks out when rolling up.

 

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that on many of the newer vehicles, and that may include 2003, many of the components work together, and have to be programmed to the specific VIN of your vehicle, in order to work together properly. I think that the cluster is more than just a "display", and it may need programming to your vehicle. I know it needs programming to set the odometer to the correct reading to match your old cluster. Otherwise.... well, kinda like odometer rollback/fraud in the old days when you go to sell the vehicle.

 

The Escalade instrument panel is not the same part # as the Suburban. The Silverado and Suburban, 1500s, appear to be interchangeable (even between 4.8, 5.3, 6.0).
You still need to get the VIN and mileage programmed as jfmorris says. I don't believe you can swap between the Caddy and Chevy.

Silverado - OEM / Interchange Numbers: 15103551, 15114650, 15182147.

Suburban - OEM / Interchange Numbers: 15103551, 15114650, 15182147.

The Chevy versions above include the trans temp guage.
