Was the 5.7L not very common in 1999 for the 1500?

Was the 5.7L not very common in 1999 for the 1500?

Been shooping around for a used truck as a project. It seems the 1999 models it was more common to have a 5.3L or a 4.8L, but dont think ive seen too many 99 models with a 5.7, am I missing something?

I think you had to get the OBS body styles to get a 5.7, which ,I believe, was only available in the dually, suburban, crew cab models.

The 5.7 was phased out along with the C/K pickups in 1998.
In 1999 the Gen III 5.3 was introduced with the 1st gen Silverado.

Try to find a EX; 2000 GMC 3500 CC or Suburban you should see what I mean.
