I bought a 1999 k 1500 LS with a 5.7L had it about a month when im driving on the freeway and all the sudden it gets hot. By the time i can get pulled over the temp gauge is over as far as it can go and the engine is making alot of noise and dies and won't start back up so i let it cool completely down then put water in it and it starts right up but runs rough at an idle still has power and good oil pressure but uses about 5 gallons of water every 6 to 10 miles my tail pipe and muffler are full of water to the point where it was driping at a fast rate out of every seam between engine and end of exhaust pipe. I'm hoping it's just a blown head gasket. Would appreciate all the feed back i can get.thank you for your opinion.

Yeap. its a blown head gasket. Don't let any water get into your oil. Might want to run it with the water pressure cap set so it doesn't allow for 15-16 PSI, for now. Should slow down the leak till you can fix it.Not sure I's run it at all until you can fix it. 5 gallows of water 6-10 miles is way too much of a leak.
