hi, trying to determine what the plugged hose in the pic is. Just bought an 01 Silverado 1500 with he said a 5.7, but I suspect 4.7. Anyway he said it was like this when he bought it....
wth is it, why was it plugged, and where is it supposed to go lol?

 

Sticker under the hood should tell you what engine it is, or do a vin decode... As to what that hose is, I would need to see where the other end is going to.

 

Looks to me like a plug someone stuffed in the end of that hose. Agreeded, find the other end, if you have no issues with the vehicle, probably not needed, then begs the ? why is it there?
