A/C turns HOT

A/C turns HOT
2006 Silverado 1500:
While driving with a/c on it will turn HOT for no reason. I have to go to neutral, kill the engine and re start which is dangerous. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it??
Also, the fan work fine up to #4, #5 doesn't blow at all. Any help on this?
