Feelings about COLD AIR INTAKES on these trucks... YEA or NAY.... never really held much stock in them on stock engines, however I would like to get rid of that WHOLE STOCK CONFIGURATION that clutters and fills the engine compartment.

 

a CIA imo will take up just as much space as the stock unit. it does sound better and supposedly frees up some HP. me being a cheapskate for my 04 impala with a 3.8 super charger, made my own. pretty sure you can do the same on the trucks as you do have some area to work with but you have to have the MAF sensor in place.

 

if your truck has a resonator box in the air snorkel from factory....putting in a cai will actually reduce air flow due to a baffling effect the resonator is designed to overcome. cheap cai don't even isolate the filter from hot engine compartment air. its jewellery.

 

That's what I figured... jewelry... ( that's funny ) ... it just has so many boxes hanging off of the tube that runs from intake to air to box. I was just going to do the CAI just to get rid of all those boxes..... THANKS
