My 2000 silverado seems to have developed a quirk. All is fine with the radio when key is turned to on or aux but once engine is running the clock goes out. Stereo functions fine but the led screen is black. Can't read time or see stations. Works fine when key is on but engine is off. Could this be a problem in the head unit itself or maybe a fuse. Any ideas appreciated. Also, I just had the truck detailed. Is there any button he may have hit that turns clock light off when driving.

 

Welcome from Florida, Does it do this both day and night? If it does make sure the DRL sensor on the dash is not covered with anything. When the sensor is covered or bad, the dash lights and radio lights are dimmed and during the day it could look like the lights are not on.

 

I did just put in a dash cover. Where is the sensor located. Maybe it xovered it.

 

It should be in the center of the dash near the windshield.
