Default Disconnect battery now truck won't crank

Hello, I had to fix 2 problems with my 2005 Silverado. 1 was brakes and the other was steering wheel bearing. I disconnected the negative battery when I removed the steering column. I put everything back together and the truck will not even attempt to crank. The light with the locked truck comes on but goes off after a few seconds.

I am fairly new to owning this truck and it was the first time I have disconnected the battery on it. I have had a couple of small electrical issues with it, but nothing serious that I am aware of. Just a bad ground for the blinkers and something with the passenger airbag. Never had any problems with it cranking. Seems like it is a security problem or something. Help please.

You stated that you removed the steering column. Possibly somehow the wiring was damaged when you reinstalled the column. I would start by checking this first.

That was the first thing I tried. I checked every clip and connector. Everything seems fine. All power options etc work. Just won't send power to the Starter for some reason

Does the truck have an anti theft system that might be causing the problem?

Yes it does. The anti theft light turns off after a couple seconds. I tried doing the recode key method of 10 minutes in on position 3x. Still nothing. I have checked every fuse. I am considering putting in a new ignition switch. I never had a problem with it... But I am completely unsure of what it could be.

Look at the neutral safety switch, that would keep it from cranking, also try it with shifter in neutral.

Yup. The problem was the cable for the neutral safety switch. It was not moving correctly. I got her running now
