Engine Swap Tips?
I am going to be removing my 4.3 L V6 engine out of my 2000 Silverado soon but I am looking for tips and tricks.
This will be my first engine removal so anything will. I already have an engine hoist and a plethora of tools.
What should I take off first? What should I not take off? What needs to be disconnected? What needs to be done to make this job go as smooth as possible?

Usually about a 1 1/2 process for me to pull one out on a 2 post lift. On the ground about 4. Get the front end of the truck up in the air on wheels ramps or blocks this will I start at the top. Get everything unhooked and out of the way. Remove fan clutch, shroud and radiator for clearance. After the top is all unhooked take the starter out and remove the torque converter bolts. Next remove the exhaust. Support the transmission with a jack or strap then start removing the trans bolts. And lastly the motor mount bolts.
