04, 1500, Oil pressure gauge works sometime, same with the temp, sometimes tach & spedo. The only gauge that works all the time is the battery & fuel. what does it take to tear into the dash.

 

It's not an easy task on most modern vehicles. One of the sponsors of this forum, D&D Instruments, might be able to help you out.

 

You will also have to send it in for repairs due to the odometer.

 

The stepper motors in the gauges are known to fail in the 03 thru 06 clusters. If you can solder and remove the cluster you can repair it yourself. Several years ago I did that to my 03 Trailblazer. It wasn't that hard, just took some time. If you do it, replace all 6 stepper motors.

I'm ordering a kit this weekend to replace the stepper motors and lights. The kit I'm getting is from amazon and includes everything, stepper motors, soldering iron, solder sucker, led's, etc for just over 30 bucks.

My fuel gauge hasn't worked right since I've had the truck. My oil pressure gauge bounces quite a bit, my volt meter has recently started having trouble getting up to 14 causing panic my charging system was going south, but alas, it was fine.
