I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 4-Door Extended Cab. I'm repairing my headliner and have removed it from my truck.
Only things I can't remove from the headliner are these trim pieces called upper door latch trim covers left & right. It looks like they are only on 4 door extended cab trucks.
I have been searching the internet for 4 hours, trying to figure out how to remove them. I have pushed on the tabs, I have tried to pull the trim piece straight out but it only rips the fiberglass headliner, I've pried, twisted, yanked and everything else.
Does anyone know the secret and wouldn't mind telling it to me. I have included some pictures to clarify.
I just did my headliner in last week in the same year as your truck and everything, I put suede in anyways, you should get a small screwdriver and try pushing that little clip back and then just yank it out.the black pieces are also two seperate pieces but when you get the new fabric on your headliner you want to be careful cuz you only get one shot pretty much. Hope that helped.
