Default Installed front and rear cameras on 2000 silverado

My brother works at a remote start/backup camera shop, so the family has been getting the hookup on all that. I've had remote start since new years, and just got around to getting the parts for the back up cam, but I wanted a front cam too, AND a way to manually kick on the rear camera. (so I wouldn't have to be in reverse for it to display)

Well we spent the day getting it all installed and working out the switches.

Mounted monitor up by rear view mirror. Current display rear camera.

Front camera view

Wasn't sure if I was totally sold on this being where I wanted camera mounted, so it's zip tied for now.

Switches to manually turn on the cameras.

Overall, I'm pretty happy so far. Waiting for it to get dark and see what they are like then.

Thumbs up Front View camera for 2019 silverado

Looks like a great job. I have the standard rear view cam and want to put one in the front. Getting the rear view cam was very easy. Just buy a new 2019. The new ones finally came out with an app on the entertainment . screen that shows the rearview for a while when you tap the camera icon. I want to have front view and park assists sensors, but I am getting overloaded with extra junk. I'll give it a try when (if) I finally get caught up with other projects.

I would mount the front camera as high as possible (probably on the rear view mirror) and get a recorder that supports two cameras.

Joe;
I was thinking of the recorder thing. It might work out ok, but I was mostly interested in parking assist. I bought a cheap set of four sensors with a flashing
and (maybe) beeping, that I want to experiment with when I get some time.
Thanks for the input,
Rich
