Default Newly purchased 99 Z71 Silverado.

New to the site, just purchased a 99 Silverado z71 single cab for my son. 155,800 miles. The truck is super nice and clean. Have a few issues I'd like to look into and see if anyone has had similar problems.
1. Last night after driving about 5 miles, the AC turned itself on. I had the heat on all the way, when I tried to turn the AC off, it wouldn't let me. I pulled over, turned the truck off and back on and it reset. About 2 more miles and it did the same thing, stayed on until I turned the truck off and back on.
2. Both seats move about 1/4 inch when you step on the gas or hit the breaks. unless you have them all the way up or all the way forward. they are both electric seats. bucket style. The previous owner did have subwoofers behind the seats that are no longer there.

I did see several recalls out for this model when I looked at the Carfax, I will be taking it to a dealer this week to see which ones have been addressed and not.
Thanks for any replies!

I've had my 00 randomly turn on or off the ac, but I've never had it be that defiant. So I've never looked into it. It may be kicking it on for defrosting, but I'm not sure how automatic that is.

As for the seats moving, I have that same problem on my passenger side. When we looked into it if I remember correctly, my brother and I decided it needed a new track or base. It's on the passenger side, so it doesn't bother me and I've left it alone for now.

No worries! After reading that and typing my response, I went out yesterday and had an issue with the hvac controls. Wasn't giving me any heat, and had changed itself to recirculating. Had to shut the truck off and restart it to get them to work right. I think your problem is just likely the controller. (and mine too.)
