Default OBD question

Thanks for letting me join.
I have a 2006 2500HD and I can scan and erase codes with my Zurich ZR8 reader but I'm unable to read live data.
The reader will read live data on other vehicles.
I've tried other readers but I can't ever get live data on the 06 Silverado.
Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks

The harbor freight reviews for this scanner indicate one customer with a 99 suburban who said the screen would black out when entering live data mode. He exchanged it and that seems to have resolved his issue. I understand that you've successfully used this live data read on other vehicles, but it could be an issue with the specific protocols on your 06 silverado that is causing the issue. What other vehicles have you used this on successfully?

Thanks for the reply.
The other vehicle is a 2011 Lincoln MKX.
I bought a Launch 529 and a V519 that both work on the Lincoln but not the Silverado.

Default Works with an Actron

I have an 06 1500 and I can capture live data with my Actron CP9670 scanner I bought from Advance Auto. Also used it on an 04 Caddy CTS-V and an 11 Ford Fiesta. Are there any firmware/software patches available for your unit? Maybe needs an upate.

I did the updates.
I just can't figure out why it doesn't connect.
I put a elm 327 in it and it said it can't connect to the ECU.
Could it be a bad ground connection or wiring?
