Default Oil issue

So every now and then I go to start my truck and it'll turn over but not start. Then after checking oil and filling to proper amount I let it sit for about 5-6 minutes and it starts no problem. I've done this about 4 times now. Sometimes when I check the dipstick I have enough oil for that to not be a problem but it still doesn't start until I add oil to it. Anybody have any suggestions what it could be? Thanks

I have no ideas for you but I'll bet it has nothing to do with adding oil. You probably have developed an early intermittent problem that is seldom showing up. Next time it happens, don't add oil and see if it starts after sitting the same amount of time.
BTW what year/motor/mileage?

Turn your key on and wait about 15-20 seconds before cranking. If it starts right away your gas is bleeding back into the tank and losing its prime.

ive tried that but it doesn't work. It will only start after I've added the oil and let it sit about 5-6 minutes. After that it fires right up no problem. Runs about a week just fine then its rinse and repeat
