2004 Silverado 4.8 VIN "V" Vortec engine... I need to troubleshoot a few things that require bringing up engine RPMs while observing. Is there a way to rev the engine from under the hood? Or do I need a helper to operate the "gas pedal?"

if its drive by wire throttle...you need a helper. I have used a prybar wedged between the seat and pedal
