RMS leaks
I was wondering when replacing a transmission if the factory service manual advises replacing the rear main seal on the engine? I had a transmission replaced a year ago by a shop and they did not replace the seal which now leaks. I am surprised, considering the vehicle has 150K+ miles on it, that the shop didn't ask if I wanted it replace or just go ahead and do it. It would have been $60 at the time while the transmission was out and now is $1,500. Thus, i was wondering if the factory service manual makes any recommendations.
It is a 2006 silverado 1500 LT 5.3 4x4, i believe engine code T. Any assistance you can provide is gratly appreciated.
Thanks!

Anyway it's not standard procedure to replace RMS with the transmission. If the leaks isn't bad (ie dripping on your driveway) then I would just leave it alone.
The service manual is available for free on charm.li
Good luck.
