Rotational clicking sound when moving 15 to 20 mph
I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 extended cab 5.3 eng. I had the trans replaced a little while back. Now I am getting a rotational spinning clicking noise at around 15 to 25 mph then it goes away when at speeds over that. took it back to the trans shop they told me that it's not the trans and everything is good with that. New u-joint at the rear. The sound, sounds like something wrapped around the drive shaft hitting. Of Course the drive shaft looks fine. Also the clicking gets faster with truck speed then stops. I'm at a loss at to what is causing this sound.
Was hard to pin point, was definitely coming from the rear area. Was told that the rear u-joint was new. I replaced both front and new rear u-joints. The front was very bad (Told by the shop it was okay) and the one they installed at the rear was very hard to move so I just replace both while I had the drive shaft out. Noise seems to be gone did not drive to far yet but everything seems to be okay. Thanks for all the advise.
